Not Cool: Capcom Selling “True” Ending to Asura’s Wrath as $6.99 DLC. (UPDATED)
Thanks to obscene corporate greed, the whole DLC thing has been getting out of hand for a while now, but this is an all new low. Is this really where video games are headed? It was bad enough when companies started rushing out half-assed products and saying, “Eff it. We’ll fix that shiz with a day-one update,” but are companies really expecting gamers to shell out $60 for a game, then an additional fee for the REAL ending of said game?
I can’t be the only one who thinks this is crazy. Am I? Is anyone else buying into this, or am I just the grumpy old dude who needs to stop bitching about how good things were “back in my day” and get with the times?
Check the full trailer for the Asura’s Wrath DLC in question (which, admittedly, looks pretty sweet, even though it’s a douche move on Capcom’s behalf) below.
UPDATE: Tumblr user Shine Like The Light reblogged this post and added:
I vote Capcom for most unscrupulous, unethical, money-hungry assholes in the gaming development industry. DLC started as a way to offer content that expanded on an already complete gaming experiences. Now Capcom offers purposely incomplete games with the goal of forcing you into DLC. It’s a continuation of their age-old re-release fetish, taken to repugnant exploitative lows. Seriously, fuck these guys. I don’t want these assholes to have my money if they’re gonna continue to half-ass and exploit their own customers.

Its been a long time since I’ve had a goal in life but not only that being four years off thirty I think I need something to aim my life towards. So Im going to open a gamers shop not a gaming store not an EB,Game or shop like that. The idea is to open some type of physical hub for people can be around other players and fine connections that you wouldn’t usual get from online. So far my plan is three step to at least get an idea if it will work
STEP 1 : Start up a website devoted to gaming but more refined to the gaming culture and the community who follow it.
STEP 2: Do a podcast and give the site a voice
Step 3: Open the store and be epic.
Now yes I understand it take so much more than three steps to build a business but this is only the first inch in the direction I want to go and baby where were going we don’t need roads (yeah I know that dose’nt make sense).
